The TBK 1 - Adaptive Resonance Filter

The Sonalksis TBK is the world's first ‘Adaptive Resonance’ filter – an entirely new generation of filter that automatically adapts filter resonance and saturation characteristics according to a psychoacoustic model.

Applications :

The Sonalksis TBK adaptive resonant filter is efficient, intuitive and direct - and therefore very simple to use, providing great results with minimal effort.

It can be used to obtain slow, gentle sweeps; massive screaming distorted sounds, and just about everything in between. TBK is designed to be flexible enough to fulfil your needs whenever you reach for a filter, but without forcing you through a complex interface, or requiring time spent calibrating fine detail. TBK adaptively calibrates itself for you.

So whether you want a filter to correct a sound, or to make a sonic statement, it can be done in just four mouse clicks with TBK.

Adaptive Resonance Technology

Standard filters require the alteration of resonance with frequency to maintain stable sonic attributes, particularly when resonance or saturation levels are elevated. This can make setup complex, adjustments difficult, and makes obtaining a perfect filter sweep very demanding. However the TBK ‘adaptive resonance’ system uses a psychoacoustic model to ensure a faultless sound regardless of filter style, frequency settings or sweep motions.

‘Adaptive Resonance’ is the technology in the Sonalksis TBK that controls the interaction between frequency, resonance and circuit saturation with respect to this psychoacoustic model, in order to give an improved sonic aesthetic in any circumstances.

The TBK 2 - Digital Grimebox

It is a creative sonic degradation plug-in, comprised of a bitcrusher, a downsampler, an adaptive bias and distortion algorithm, and a low pass filter.

Applications :

TBK2 is efficient, intuitive and direct - and therefore very simple to use, providing great results with minimal effort, the interface and the options provided makes it easy to achieve a variety of sonic effects including, but not limited to:

Downsampling of audio to create subtle or not-so-subtle lo-fi effects

Bitcrushing of transient-rich audio to add emphasis

General bitcrushing tasks

Clipping of transient signals to enhance and excite top end energy

Use combinations of downsampling and bitcrushing to introduce harmonic distortion to fatten bass and other tones

TBK2 also contains a selectable low pass filter, providing more selective control of the elements to be effected.

TBK 3 - Über Compressor

The Sonalksis TBK3 Über Compressor is a dynamics processor unlike any other. Beneath its simple interface lies a radical analogue modelled compressor that can be pushed much further and harder than you ever imagined possible! In essence the TBK3 is analogue compression taken to the extreme.

Applications

TBK3 takes advantage of the digital domain to extend analogue circuit designs far beyond their normal physical capabilities, enabling a level of creativity not normally associated with this type of processor. Subtlety is definitely not a feature of this compressor! This Über Compressor can be used to simply bring lackluster sound back to life, or to mutate audio into apocalyptic soundscapes. A true Creative Element. Like the other plug-ins in the Sonalksis Creative Elements range, the TBK3 is efficient, intuitive and direct - and therefore very simple to use, providing great results with minimal effort.
