Pulsar IPA 25 is a modern dynamics processor that expands on the sound and behavior of classic VCA compressors. It combines multiple circuit topologies, a complete sidechain control section, and an integrated clipper/limiter into a single, efficient plugin for mixing and mastering.

Multiple Compression Circuits
IPA 25 offers four fully modeled gain-reduction topologies, allowing instant changes in harmonic behavior without altering the detector response:
- Clean VCA – Transparent envelope control for detailed and accurate dynamics.
- Original VCA – Punchy and precise with smooth rounding at high levels.
- V-Mu – Tube-inspired saturation with natural low-mid bloom.
- N-Diode – Asymmetrical clipping that enhances midrange presence.
Each mode shapes harmonics at the gain-reduction stage, providing tonal variety without external saturation tools.
Complete Sidechain Control
IPA 25 treats the detector path as a creative element rather than a fixed circuit.
- Precisely define how each frequency band influences gain reduction.
- Four-band visual sidechain EQ for precise frequency-dependent control.
- Punch Selector – Switch between Norm, Mid, or Loud detection focus.
- Stereo Linking – Adjust how channels share gain reduction across sustained and transient material.
- External Sidechain – Trigger compression from any source for ducking or rhythmic effects.
Adaptive Clipper / Limiter
A built-in peak-control module adds level and density without distortion.
- Limiter applies dynamic control only to overshoots, avoiding flattened transients.
- Clipper trims peaks transparently to add controlled harmonic weight.
- Modules can be positioned pre- or post-compression to fit any workflow.
Envelope and Timing Options
- Look-Ahead / Look-Behind control allows either pre-emptive or delayed response to transients.
- Feed-Forward / Feedback modes subtly change how harmonics and compression interact.
- Zero-latency tracking and high-quality oversampling modes adapt to any production stage.
